June 5, 2025by Ranger Tom0
The search for 26-year-old Jomarie Calasanz of Los Angeles, who went missing in Sequoia National Park, has transitioned to a limited continuous mode due to dangerous river conditions. This means fewer resources are currently assigned to the search. The National Park Service has posted public information in the area and rescue staff will continue to monitor the river.

The river conditions have been deemed too perilous for rescue teams to enter at this time. As a result, the search for Calasanz has been scaled back. However, the National Park Service assures that the situation is being closely watched and rescue staff are on standby to resume full-scale search operations once conditions improve.

The decision to reevaluate the next steps in the search will be made in the coming weeks, based on the river’s conditions. The safety of the rescue teams remains a priority as the search for Calasanz continues. The public is urged to stay updated through the National Park Service’s official website.
