The National Park Service (NPS) and contracted crews are currently undertaking emergency clearing and safety operations in the area. The closure will remain in effect until these operations are completed and the area deemed safe for public use again.

This closure highlights the significant impact of severe weather on public areas and infrastructure. The NPS has not yet provided an estimated timeline for the reopening of this section of the GWMP. Updates regarding the situation will be provided on the NPS website.
