Munising Falls Trail Closed Until Further Notice

The National Park Service has announced the closure of the Munising Falls Trail in Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore until further notice. A storm on the evening of April 28th caused significant damage to the trail, washing out a 75-foot section of the paved path. As a result, there is currently no viewing access to Munising Falls.

The damage is severe enough to prohibit travel within the closure. The National Park Service has not specified a date for the reopening of the trail, stating that it will remain shut for an indefinite period. Visitors are urged to respect the closure for their safety and to prevent further damage to the park infrastructure.

The closure is a significant event for Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore, which is known for its scenic trails and viewing points. The Munising Falls Trail is a popular route among visitors, offering a unique view of the Munising Falls.
