The presentation will be held at two different times and locations on the same day. The first session will be at 10:00 a.m. in the corral at the rear of the Fort. The second session will be held at 2:00 p.m. at the Woodruff Memorial Library in La Junta, Colorado. Each session will provide an opportunity for the public to delve into the history of the Mountain Men and their association with the fort.
The “Stories from the Borderlands” program series is a significant initiative by Bent’s Old Fort National Historic Site to shed light on lesser-known historical narratives. This specific presentation, “Separating Legend from Fact: Mountain Men and Bent’s Old Fort,” promises to offer intriguing insights into the life and times of the Mountain Men, and their intersection with the history of Bent’s Old Fort.
