Solo hiker injured by bear on Sept. 16 in Yellowstone National Park

A 29-year-old male hiker sustained injuries from a bear encounter while hiking alone on the Turbid Lake Trail in Yellowstone National Park on Friday, September 16. The trail is located northeast of Mary Bay in Yellowstone Lake.

The incident occurred in the afternoon. Details regarding the extent of the hiker’s injuries and current condition have not been disclosed. It is also unclear what species of bear was involved in the incident.

The National Park Service (NPS) is investigating the incident. Updates will be provided as additional information becomes available. For now, hikers in the Yellowstone National Park area are encouraged to be vigilant and take necessary precautions when in bear territory.
