Civil War Defenses of Washington to host a Juneteenth commemoration at Fort Reno Park

The Civil War Defenses of Washington, managed by the National Park Service (NPS), is set to host a Juneteenth commemoration at Fort Reno Park. The event, titled “Remember Reno City”, will take place on the historic grounds of Fort Reno on June 19.

Fort Reno, known for its significant historical background, will provide the setting for a day of remembrance and celebration. Juneteenth, recognized as a day to commemorate the emancipation of enslaved African Americans, will be the focus of the event.
