Roadwork at Black Canyon

Starting July 7, 2025, Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park will undergo significant roadwork. The project will take place at several locations throughout the park, with the intention of improving and preserving the park’s roadways. The work is expected to enhance the overall visitor experience.

The roadwork will involve a variety of tasks, including chip sealing, patching, and micro-sealing. These processes are designed to extend the life of the roadways and ensure their continued usability for park visitors. The project will be carried out at multiple locations within the park, ensuring a wide-reaching impact on the park’s infrastructure.
