Play a Game of Civil War Base Ball at Appomattox Court House NHP

Visitors to Appomattox Court House National Historical Park are being invited to participate in a unique experience: a game of Civil War-era ‘base ball’. The park service is offering visitors the chance to play the game following the rules and techniques from the Civil War period. This interactive experience is designed to offer a glimpse into the pastimes of the era, while also providing a fun and engaging activity for visitors of all ages.

The games are scheduled to take place, weather permitting, at 10:00 AM and 1:00 PM. Each game is expected to last between one and one and a half hours. This activity is not just for spectators; all visitors are encouraged to physically participate in the games, providing a hands-on learning experience about this aspect of Civil War history.
