May 23, 2025by Ranger Tom0

Motorcyclists are particularly vulnerable to the extreme heat due to the lack of air conditioning and the direct exposure to the sun. The physical exertion required to operate a motorcycle can also lead to rapid dehydration. The park service notes that even experienced riders can be caught off guard by the intense conditions in Death Valley.

The National Park Service encourages visitors to consider alternative modes of transportation when exploring the park during the summer. They suggest using air-conditioned vehicles and staying well-hydrated to combat the extreme heat. The park remains open to all visitors, but the safety and well-being of guests is a top priority.
