Bronze Plaque Theft from Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park

A theft occurred at the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park on Sunday, May 4. Two white males reportedly removed three bronze plaques from the Sherman Reservation on Missionary Ridge. The plaques are valued at $18,000 in total.

The Sherman Reservation, located at 2419 North Crest Road, Chattanooga, TN 37406, is part of the Chickamauga & Chattanooga National Military Park. The theft took place at approximately 12:01 pm. The stolen plaques are significant due to their historical value to the park and the nation.

The National Park Service has not released any further details about the suspects or the ongoing investigation. They are encouraging anyone with information about the theft to come forward. The loss of these plaques is not only a financial loss but also a loss to the historical integrity of the park.
