May 2, 2025by Ranger Tom0

Max Humphrey, acclaimed author and interior designer, is hitting the trail once again—this time with a fresh, outdoors-focused lens on America’s national parks. Following the success of his 2023 bestseller LODGE: An Indoorsy Tour of America’s National Parks, Humphrey has announced the release of two new coffee table travel books: Yellowstone National Park and Great Smoky Mountains National Park, the first in a planned series spotlighting the natural beauty and iconic charm of U.S. national parks.

Departing from the cozy lodge interiors that made LODGE a standout in both the Interior Design and Travel categories, Humphrey’s new series dives into the wide-open landscapes, local flora and fauna, historical lodges, and visitor-friendly travel tips that define each park experience.

“These new books are more outdoorsy,” said Humphrey via Instagram. “They’ll offer a glimpse into each park’s natural beauty, iconic lodging, and more.”

Humphrey, who was named one of Country Living’s 100 Most Creative People and a ‘Next Wave’ designer by House Beautiful, brings his signature visual style and storytelling to the project. Published by Gibbs Smith, the books celebrate both timeless landscapes and the evolving traveler’s experience.

With a background that ranges from film production and punk rock tours to national design awards and brand collaborations, Humphrey brings a truly unique voice to America’s public lands.

The Yellowstone and Great Smoky Mountains volumes will be published side-by-side, with more parks to follow in the series.
