Joshua Tree National Park west entrance to close for Jan. 12-17 construction

Joshua Tree National Park’s west entrance is due to close for construction from 6 a.m. on January 12 to 7 a.m. on January 17. The closure will affect both inbound and outbound traffic, including the restrooms at the entrance. The construction project will also result in the closure of Park Boulevard to vehicle traffic for a six-mile stretch from the west entrance to the Quail Springs Picnic Area.

In addition to the aforementioned closures, the Maze Loop and Bigfoot Trailhead parking areas will also be off-limits. Visitors will not be permitted to drive to or park at these trailheads during the construction period. Despite these closures, all other park roads are projected to remain open to the public.

For more information and updates, visitors are encouraged to visit the official Joshua Tree National Park website. The park authorities appreciate the public’s understanding and cooperation during this temporary disruption aimed at improving the park’s infrastructure.
