The Oak Flat and Uplands Trails at the South Rim of Black Canyon of the Gunnison National Park have officially reopened to the public. These popular trails had been closed since July 10, 2025, but are now once again accessible for visitors to enjoy.
The reopening of these trails marks an important milestone for the park, as they are some of the most frequented routes for hikers and nature lovers. The Oak Flat Trail offers a moderate hike through a beautiful mixed forest, while the Uplands Trail provides stunning views of the Black Canyon and the surrounding landscape.
Visitors are encouraged to check the National Park Service website for the latest updates and information about trail conditions. As always, the park reminds visitors to respect the natural environment, follow trail guidelines, and ensure they are prepared for their hikes.
