The National Park Service has planned this closure to ensure that the site is in the best possible condition for the significant anniversary in 2026. This period will allow for a comprehensive refurbishment of the interior of Independence Hall, a crucial landmark in American history.

Visitors planning to visit the site during this period are advised to reschedule their visits to accommodate the temporary closure. The National Park Service appreciates the public’s understanding and cooperation during this time of preservation and preparation for the important milestone.
