Grand Canyon News Release – Grand Canyon National Park Announces Increased Water and Fire Restrictions During Infrastructure Work

November 1, 2025by Ranger Tom0
Grand Canyon National Park is set to implement Stage 3 Water Restrictions and Stage 2 Fire Restrictions from October 31, 2025. The park authority has taken this step in response to limited water availability and construction activities related to the ongoing Transcanyon Waterline Replacement Project. These restrictions aim to conserve water and prevent fire hazards during the construction phase.

In addition to the restrictions, a temporary interruption in water pumping is scheduled to take place from November 4 to approximately November 18, 2025. This interruption will allow construction crews to replace and test a critical segment of the pipeline. The park authority has urged visitors and residents to prepare for the interruption and follow the restrictions for the safety and preservation of the park.

The National Park Service will continue to provide updates on the situation and the progress of the Transcanyon Waterline Replacement Project. For more information, visit the Grand Canyon National Park’s official website.
