Crews Confirm Wildland Fire near Constance Pass Trail

On September 6, a fire was found by the Olympic Interagency Fire crews in the Olympic National Park. The fire, named the Sunnybrook Meadow Fire, is located about half a mile southeast of the Sunnybrook Wilderness Campsite. It is believed to have been caused by a lightning strike.

The fire currently spans a tenth of an acre within the Daniel J. Evans Wilderness. This area is part of the larger Olympic National Park. Despite the fire’s presence, there have been no closures announced in the park.

As of now, the Sunnybrook Meadow Fire poses no threats to public safety or infrastructure. The situation is being monitored by the Olympic Interagency Fire crews. More updates will be provided on the National Park Service’s official website.
