Mora Road Repair Will Require Single-Lane Traffic Starting on September 9

September 6, 2025by Ranger Tom0
Starting on September 9, Geo Stabilization will commence repair work on the eroding riverbank on Mora Road, the main access route to Rialto Beach in Olympic National Park. The northern bank of the Quillayute River that has been eroding over the past few years will be stabilized and reinforced by construction crews. The necessary repairs are a result of ongoing erosion issues affecting the area.

Due to these repair works, traffic will be reduced to a single lane through the 0.25-mile work zone, beginning near mile post 1.75. This change in traffic flow is necessary to ensure the safety of both the construction workers and the visitors to the park. The repair work will be confined to a specific section of the road, limiting the impact on the overall travel route within the park.

Visitors to Olympic National Park should be prepared for potential delays of up to 20 minutes due to the repair works. The National Park Service advises visitors to plan their trips accordingly and apologizes for any inconvenience caused. The repair works are essential to maintaining the safety and integrity of Mora Road, a key route within the park.
