Yosemite National Park reports strong summer visitation numbers

September 5, 2025by Ranger Tom0

Yosemite National Park has reported one of its busiest summer seasons in recent years, with visitation numbers up seven percent from the same period in 2024. The park received a total of 2,919,722 visits through August, compared to 2,727,496 visitors during the same period in 2024. This increase marks a significant upturn in visitor numbers, despite winter storms in February limiting access to the park.

Every month of 2025, barring February, has seen higher visitor numbers than the corresponding month in 2024. This consistent growth in visitation indicates the enduring appeal of Yosemite and its continued popularity among tourists. The park is on track to record one of its busiest years in its history.

The National Park Service has not provided any specific reasons for this year’s increase in visitation. However, the rise in numbers demonstrates the continued importance of national parks as valuable recreational spaces for the public. As the year continues, the park is expected to maintain its strong visitor numbers.
