The plan is designed to protect and restore native vegetation and other natural and cultural resources within the parks. The overpopulation of white-tailed deer has been identified as a significant threat to these resources. By controlling the deer population, the parks aim to maintain the balance of the local ecosystem and protect its biodiversity.

The management program is based on scientific research and is being implemented in accordance with federal laws and regulations. The public will be informed about the specific dates and areas of the lethal removal operations to ensure safety. The program is expected to continue in future years, based on ongoing monitoring and assessment of its effectiveness.
