The National Park Service has collaborated with the Back Country Horsemen of Big South Fork to enhance the facilities at the Station Camp Campground within the Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area. This initiative saw the replacement of ten metal horse tie-stalls with pipe panel horse corrals, a significant upgrade in terms of horse accommodation.
The new corrals, made from pipe panels, offer a more secure and comfortable environment for horses compared to the previous tie-stalls. This upgrade is expected to improve the overall experience for equestrians who frequent the Station Camp Campground.
The project was completed by volunteers from the Back Country Horsemen of Big South Fork, demonstrating their commitment to improving the equestrian facilities within the park. This collaboration is a testament to the ongoing partnership between the National Park Service and local volunteer groups, who work together to enhance and maintain the park’s amenities.
