Big South Fork Back Country Horsemen Volunteers Assist to Improve Station Camp Campground

The National Park Service has teamed up with the Back Country Horsemen of Big South Fork to upgrade facilities at the Station Camp Campground within the Big South Fork National River & Recreation Area. The joint effort has seen the replacement of 10 existing metal horse tie-stalls with pipe panel horse corrals, providing a safer and more comfortable environment for horses.

The Back Country Horsemen of Big South Fork, a group of dedicated volunteers, were instrumental in this improvement project. Their hands-on involvement not only facilitated the replacement of the stalls but also demonstrated their commitment to maintaining and enhancing the campground’s equestrian facilities.

This collaborative venture between the National Park Service and the Back Country Horsemen underscores the importance of volunteer efforts in maintaining and improving national park facilities.
