National Park Service and Federal Highway Administration award contract for US 441/Newfound Gap Road emergency repairs

The National Park Service (NPS) and the Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) have awarded a contract for emergency repairs on the US 441/Newfound Gap Road. The road had experienced a washout, prompting swift action from both agencies. The contract for the repair work has been given to Eclipse Companies, LLC.

The NPS and FHWA held a pre-construction meeting with the contractor on Friday. This meeting marks the start of the repair process, with the contractor expected to begin mobilizing equipment and supplies over the coming week.
