West Entrance of Joshua Tree National Park Will Be Temporarily Closed to Inbound and Outbound Traffic During Construction

The National Park Service has announced a temporary closure of the west entrance to Joshua Tree National Park. This closure will affect both inbound and outbound traffic from 6 a.m. on August 25 to 6 p.m. on August 29. The closure is due to construction work being carried out at the entrance.

During this period, visitors to Joshua Tree National Park will need to use alternative entrances. The National Park Service has advised visitors to enter or exit the park via Twentynine Palms or Cottonwood. This change in access points will be in effect for the entire duration of the construction.

The National Park Service has not provided further details on the nature of the construction work at the west entrance. Visitors planning a trip to Joshua Tree National Park during these dates are advised to plan their route accordingly.
