Hoh Area of Olympic National Park Closed Until Jefferson County Partners Assess Road

August 16, 2025by Ranger Tom0
The Hoh Rain Forest area of Olympic National Park has been temporarily closed due to concerns regarding the condition of a temporary access road. The closure comes as a result of the Jefferson County culvert project at milepost 1.24 on the Upper Hoh Road experiencing backup flooding.

The area is set to reopen once Jefferson County partners have assessed the construction site and confirmed the safety of the temporary bypass road. Until this assessment is completed, the Hoh area of the park will remain inaccessible to the public.

The Olympic National Park and Jefferson County are working together to ensure the safety of visitors and the integrity of the park’s infrastructure. The public is encouraged to stay informed about the status of the closure by visiting the National Park Service’s website.
