Lake Powell Low Water Updates: Wahweap Main Launch Ramp Inoperable Aug. 18, Rainbow Bridge Dock Moving Aug. 25

Due to decreasing water levels, the National Park Service has announced alterations to two key visitor facilities at Lake Powell. Starting from Monday, August 18, the Wahweap Main Launch Ramp will be out of service. This change is due to the ongoing water shortage, which has rendered the ramp inoperable.

In addition to the closure of Wahweap Main Launch Ramp, the Rainbow Bridge dock will be relocated. The dock, which is currently situated in a shallow water area, will be moved to deeper waters. This move is scheduled for Monday, August 25.

The National Park Service encourages visitors to stay updated on these changes and plan their visit accordingly. These alterations are necessary to ensure the safety and enjoyment of all visitors, as well as to adapt to the current environmental conditions at Lake Powell.
