The National Park Service has announced the reopening of over 30 campsites in Loop A of the Julian Price Campground. Located at milepost 297 on the Blue Ridge Parkway, these sites will be accessible to the public from August 15. The reopening is a significant development for outdoor enthusiasts seeking to enjoy the natural beauty of this popular camping destination.
Reservations for the newly reopened campsites will be open until the end of October. This arrangement allows campers to secure their spot in advance, ensuring a smooth and hassle-free camping experience. It is important to note that these sites are available strictly by reservation, marking a departure from the usual practice of offering ‘first come, first served’ sites.
For those interested in making a reservation, they can do so by visiting the National Park Service’s website. However, campers are reminded that ‘first come, first served’ sites will not be available this season. The move to a fully reservation-based system is a significant change, aimed at providing a more organized and efficient camping experience for all visitors.
