Effective Immediately: Wahweap Main Launch Ramp Limited to Vessels 30 Feet or Smaller; Stateline Auxiliary Ramp is available for all Vessels.

August 8, 2025by Ranger Tom0
Effective immediately, restrictions have been placed on the Wahweap Main Launch Ramp at the Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, limiting its use to vessels 30 feet or smaller. The decision to implement these restrictions was made in response to recent damage that has undermined the stability of the ramp surface. This damage has resulted in the closure of the north (right) side of the ramp.

The south (left) side of the Wahweap Main Launch Ramp remains open but is now exclusively available to smaller vessels. This limitation is necessary to preserve the integrity of the ramp and ensure the safety of all users. The National Park Service has not yet provided a timeline for when repairs to the damaged section of the ramp will be completed.

In the meantime, the National Park Service advises that the Stateline Auxiliary Ramp is available for all vessels, regardless of size. This provides an alternative launching point for larger vessels that can no longer use the Wahweap Main Launch Ramp due to the new restrictions. The National Park Service continues to prioritize the safety of all park visitors and thanks everyone for their understanding and cooperation.
