The National Park Service (NPS) has announced a free public celebration to honor the 150th birth anniversary of Mary McLeod Bethune, a significant figure in American history known for her contributions to education, civil rights, and women’s leadership. The event aims to pay tribute to Bethune’s enduring legacy which continues to inspire the pursuit of justice and equality.

The celebration is scheduled to take place on Saturday, July 12, 2025, starting at 4:30 p.m. The NPS has chosen Lincoln Park, located at East Capitol & 11th Streets, Washington, DC, as the venue for this special occasion.
