July Fourth Public Reading of the Declaration of Independence

Morristown National Historical Park will host a series of activities to celebrate Independence Day on Friday, July 4. The park, which is also known as Washington’s Headquarters, will provide an array of programs for visitors to partake in. The event is aimed at commemorating the historical significance of the day and educating the public about the nation’s history.

The park’s Independence Day celebration will feature Junior Ranger Programs, an initiative designed to engage young visitors and foster a deeper understanding of the National Park Service and its preservation efforts. These programs will provide children with hands-on experiences that connect them to the park’s resources and history.

In addition to the Junior Ranger Programs, the park will also host reenactor demonstrations. These live performances will recreate historical events, offering visitors an immersive experience of history. Visitors can also enjoy soldier songs, which are traditional songs sung by soldiers during the Revolutionary War. The highlight of the day will be a public reading of the Declaration of Independence, allowing attendees to reflect on the origins and values of the United States.
