Arches and Canyonlands national parks are preparing for a bustling Fourth of July weekend, expecting high volumes of traffic, long queues at park entrances, crowded trails, and scarce parking. Both parks are anticipating a surge in visitors during the holiday weekend, leading to increased congestion and potentially longer wait times. Visitors are advised to plan their trips accordingly, taking into account the expected crowd levels and limited parking availability.
Arches National Park’s pilot reservation system is set to continue throughout the holiday period. This system, which was implemented to manage visitor numbers and reduce congestion, will be in effect during the Fourth of July weekend. However, the reservation system will be temporarily paused from July 7 to August 28, before resuming in time for the Labor Day weekend.
Visitors are encouraged to check the parks’ official websites for the latest news and updates. Detailed information about the pilot reservation system at Arches National Park, as well as updates about park conditions, can be found at www.nps.gov/arch/learn/news/news06252025.htm.
