Operation Dry Water is a nationwide initiative that seeks to reduce the number of accidents and fatalities related to boating under the influence (BUI). The campaign is timed to coincide with the busy July 4th holiday period, a time when many people take to the water and when boating incidents are particularly high.

During the Operation Dry Water campaign, law enforcement agencies will be out in force on Lake Powell. They will be actively educating boaters about safe boating practices and the dangers of boating under the influence. The campaign is not only about enforcement but also about raising awareness among the boating public about the importance of staying safe on the water.
