Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks are set to implement stage 1 fire restrictions beginning at 6 a.m. on June 11. The restrictions are being put in place to mitigate potential fire risks. These measures will prohibit the use of wood and charcoal fires, including wood-burning stoves.
The ban applies to all areas within the park boundaries. Campers and visitors are advised to make alternative arrangements for cooking and heating, as traditional methods will not be permitted. The restriction is expected to remain in effect until further notice.
The National Park Service is urging visitors to adhere strictly to these restrictions for their safety and the preservation of the parks. Further information can be found on the Sequoia and Kings Canyon National Parks’ official website.
