On May 27, smokejumpers, who are firefighters trained to parachute into remote areas to combat wildfires, completed their work on the fire and demobilized. After their departure, the fire has been left in a monitor status. This indicates that while the fire is not currently being actively fought, it is being watched closely for any changes that might necessitate further action.

The National Park Service has not released further information about the fire’s size or potential impact on the preserve. Updates will likely be posted on the Yukon-Charley Rivers National Preserve website. For now, the situation seems to be under control, with no immediate threats to the preserve or surrounding areas.
