The project will focus on enhancing the visitor experience at the memorial, which is a key attraction for tourists and history enthusiasts. The restoration will ensure that the upper plaza continues to serve as a symbol of international peace and a tribute to those who fought in the Battle of Lake Erie during the War of 1812.

The fund allocation is part of the NPS’s commitment to preserving and enhancing national monuments and historical sites. The GAOA Legacy Restoration Fund is a significant resource for such projects, providing the necessary financial support to ensure the longevity and preservation of these important sites.

The Perry’s Victory and International Peace Memorial restoration project is a testament to the ongoing efforts of the NPS to protect and improve the nation’s historical landmarks. Visitors to the memorial can look forward to an enhanced and safer experience once the restoration is complete.

No timeline for the completion of the project has been provided at this time. Updates on the restoration process will be made available on the NPS website.
