Motorcyclist Fatality at Canyonlands National Park

National Park Service rangers responded to a fatal single motor vehicle accident at Canyonlands National Park on May 8, 2025. The incident involved a motorcyclist at the entrance to the Island in the Sky district of the park. Despite resuscitation efforts, the 71-year-old male patient could not be saved.

The victim was identified as Bruce Griffith from Copper Mountain, Colorado. Griffith was pronounced deceased at the scene of the accident. Further details about the incident are yet to be released.

Canyonlands National Park is a popular destination for outdoor enthusiasts, including motorcyclists. The Island in the Sky district, where the accident occurred, is the most visited section of the park.
