The plan in question, the Multimodal Safety and Operational Improvements Plan, aims to enhance the safety and operation of the parkway. It is part of a larger effort by the NPS to improve visitor experiences while ensuring the protection of natural and cultural resources. The Environmental Assessment is a key part of this plan, examining the potential environmental impacts of proposed improvements.

The NPS encourages public participation in this process, as the feedback received will be crucial in shaping the final plan. The extended deadline offers an additional opportunity for interested parties to contribute their views. Comments can be submitted through the NPS Planning, Environment, and Public Comment (PEPC) system.
