Reopening of the African Burial Ground’s Visitor Center

The African Burial Ground National Monument is set to reopen its indoor Visitor Center, including the exhibits, starting from Thursday, October 14, 2021. This move will increase access to the historic site which is a significant landmark in the history of African Americans.

The hours of operation will remain unchanged, continuing from 10:00 AM to 4:00 PM. The site will be accessible for visits from Tuesdays through Saturdays. This schedule provides ample opportunity for visitors to explore the rich history and cultural significance that the monument holds.

However, visitors are required to make reservations before their visit. Detailed information regarding the reopening and reservation process can be found on the National Park Service’s official website. The reopening of the Visitor Center marks a significant step towards enabling more people to learn about and appreciate the African Burial Ground National Monument.
