Acadia National Park updates availability of campground reservations

April 27, 2025by Ranger Tom0
Starting in 2025, campers looking to reserve spots at Blackwoods, Seawall, and Schoodic Woods campgrounds in Acadia National Park will be able to do so four months earlier than previously allowed. The National Park Service has announced that beginning December 1, 2024, 90% of campground reservations will be made available up to six months ahead of the desired arrival date. This change is intended to provide more flexibility and planning time for visitors.

The remaining 10% of the campground reservations will not follow this six-month advance schedule. Instead, these will be released two weeks ahead of the desired arrival date. This allotment includes same-day reservations, ensuring that spontaneous campers or those making last-minute plans still have an opportunity to secure a spot.

The National Park Service’s decision is part of its ongoing commitment to improving visitor experiences at Acadia National Park. By increasing the reservation window, the organization hopes to streamline the reservation process and make camping at the park more accessible for both long-term planners and spontaneous adventurers.
